Need Money in a Hurry

So what happens when you suddenly realize you're short on cash until you get paid again? Stuff happens--an unexpected hospital visit, home repairs, car repairs. I think I have experienced all of the above at one time or another and it was extremely stressful.

I am usually pretty good about keeping 'extra' money aside in case something unexpected arises but this past year I have been very lazy about doing that. The main reason was vacation-we had 2 planned in 2010 and have 2 planned for this year so any 'extra' money was going in the vacation fund.

We just got back from vacation; the next one is in about 3 months! I am still saving money for that one. I need to work a little bit harder to ensure I do not fall into a hole of debt. The Man and I have discussed applying for one of those free payday loans just to get us caught up from this recent vacation. I certainly do not want to head to another vacation still paying for one I went on months prior. Soon we won't be able to go on any vacations at all.

Being behind on bills is not a fun feeling, not to mention how badly credit scores suffer. That was always something I worried about; if a bill was paid late, more than once, how serious would that be to my credit score? On the other hand, does it depend on which bills are being paid late? Hmmm, something I should look into!
