Revamping My Castle

I like to think I live in a castle and I'm the Queen, of course! Our home is fairly big, so it could be castle-like, if we made some changes.

I think the first change I'd like to make are the floors. Everything in this house, except the kitchen and the bathrooms, are carpeted. I'd prefer to have hardwood floors with a few rugs here and there.

I'm open to all sorts of suggestions! What else should I do? I want it to be 'homey' but with a castle - like feel.
