When The Man and I first got together, so much of our relationship was deeply rooted in emotion and sexuality. We absolutely got along well, as far as the mundane things were concerned but where we really connected was on an extremely sexual/spiritual level.
That connection grew and eventually we found ourselves in a very serious D/S (Dominant/submissive) relationship but only on a sexual level. I wanted more - I wanted to take it to a lifestyle level, he did not.
I referred to him, in my mind, as 'Master' or 'Sir' but always called him by the name he requested. Looking back, it seems to me that maybe it was just fun for him - just awesome bedroom play and I took it more seriously.
We aren't connected in that way anymore. That part of us seems to have died and I long for it to come back every.single.day.
